《覺闕 Noesis》ILiying Huang
Have you ever experienced a fleeting moment—
a certain light, a faint scent—quietly awakening a memory,
vague yet vividly present?
This year, artist Liying Huang invites you on such a journey in her latest solo exhibition Noesis at TARTCH.
The Chinese title, Jue Que (覺闕), carries layered meanings:
“Jue” is the beginning of perception; “Que” is the unfinished blank.
_ Noesis_, from philosophy, refers to an act of perception that goes beyond mere seeing—one that engages the whole being.
Her works leave behind dreamlike fragments and traces of warmth.
Through the layering and erasure of graphite, and the interplay of light and negative space, they invite you to touch emotions and memories that have yet to be spoken.
This is not an exhibition you need to “understand”—it is an encounter with the long-lost landscapes within yourself.
In an age of constant noise and information overload, let us spend an afternoon together in this space of slowness and sincerity.
