2023/04/21 Artist-in-TARTCH Residency Project

For this residency project, TARTCH is delighted to invite Japanese artist vug to Taiwan for the very first time. From April 24 to May 7, during the artist’s creative period at TARTCH, the indoor space will be closed to the public. We appreciate your understanding.

During the residency, TARTCH’s sister brand T.TEA, known for freshly brewed handcrafted tea, will continue normal operations. We warmly welcome you to pass through the blue archway beside the storefront, enjoy a freshly made cup of tea, and relax in the outdoor seating area—where you can immerse yourself in the leisurely atmosphere of the artist’s stay.

In addition to works on canvas, vug will also be creating a large-scale wall painting on May 5 and May 6. On both days, visitors are invited to witness the creative process firsthand and experience the artist’s dynamic expression as it unfolds across the wall.

The complete body of works from the residency will be officially presented at vug’s solo exhibition “eye to eye”, on view from May 10 to June 10. Special interactive sessions with the artist will be arranged during the exhibition period—offering visitors a rare opportunity to meet vug and engage in a true “eye-to-eye” exchange.
