Sao Tanaka

藝術家簡歷(Bio)

Sao Tanaka 出生於東京,現居紐約。
她於 2014 年畢業於 多摩美術大學 日本畫科,取得學士學位;
2017 年於 一橋大學 社會學研究所取得碩士學位;
並於 2021 年就讀於 紐約視覺藝術學院(SVA)。

她的個展曾於 蔦屋畫廊(東京,2025)及 Mizuma & Kips 畫廊(紐約,2022)舉行。

其作品亦曾參與多項重要機構展覽,包括 The Drawing Center(紐約,2025)、多摩美術大學美術館(2021),以及 廣島市現代美術館(2018)。

Sao Tanaka 為 2024–2025 年 Pola 美術振興財團 研究補助與獎學金得主,並曾參與 NARS Foundation(2024)及 Vermont Studio Center(2025)之駐村計畫。

Sao Tanaka was born in Tokyo and based in New York, She earned her BFA in Japanese
Painting from Tama Art University in 2014, an MA in Sociology from Hitotsubashi University in
2017, and studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York in 2021. Selected solo exhibitions
include Tsutaya Gallery (Tokyo, 2025) and Mizuma & Kips Gallery (New York, 2022). Her work
has been featured in group exhibitions at The Drawing Center (New York, 2025), Tama Art
University Museum (2021), and the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art (2018). She is
a recipient of the 2024–2025 Pola Art Foundation Fellowships and Research Grants, and has
participated in residency programs at the NARS Foundation (2024) and the Vermont Studio
Center (2025).
