Lilidelacrows ChungLi Li
Lilidelacrows (Lee Chung-Li) was born on September 28, 1984, in Taipei, and graduated from the Department of Media Communication Design at Shih Chien University. Before the age of 30, he worked as a commercial and music video director, and was also the lead vocalist of the band Hun Ya (Faint Crow). He later launched his personal music and art project, Lilidelacrows.
After making a striking debut with his first solo exhibition in Tokyo, he once again captivated audiences in 2024 with his astonishing series “LONELINESS Pro Max” at TARTCH Gallery.
This exhibition is a collision between music and visual art — featuring bold lines and intense colors reminiscent of Picasso’s rugged distortions, yet infused with a darkly humorous depth. With an almost childlike brushstroke, Lilidelacrows explores loneliness, transforming it into a powerful inner force that challenges conventional understandings of emotion.
Highly sought after by collectors across Europe and the United States, this exhibition marks the artist’s long-awaited return to showcase his work on his own soil.
More Information
Born in Taipei in 1984, Lilidelacrows (Lee Chung-Li) graduated from the Department of Media Communication Design at Shih Chien University. Before turning thirty, he was active as a commercial and music video director, while also serving as the lead vocalist of the band “Faint Crow.” Under the name Lilidelacrows, he launched a personal project that merges music and visual art into a distinctive dual practice.
Lilidelacrows’ artistic style mirrors his personality — sharp-witted, fearless, and unapologetically direct. His works are bold and unrestrained, marked by childlike brushstrokes that carry a dark sense of humor, and vivid colors that reveal an underlying solitude. This tension — between irony and vulnerability — is the essence of his charm. He masterfully finds balance between self-deprecation and deconstruction, transforming loneliness and absurdity into creative energy that challenges conventional perceptions of emotion.
Since his first solo exhibition in Tokyo, he has garnered wide attention. In 2024, he astonished audiences once again with his series “LONELINESS Pro Max”, exhibited at TARTCH Gallery, where his work struck a deep chord with viewers in Taiwan. It was a collision of music and visual art, yet also a kind of emotional stand-up performance — combining the raw distortions of Picasso with the satirical playfulness of comic art. His paintings often draw laughter, but that laughter lingers, leaving behind a quiet, ineffable weight.
More than just an artist, Lee Chung-Li is a performer — one who transforms life’s absurd moments into a visual language of irony and reflection. His humor is never frivolous; it is a form of thoughtful confidence. And his art is more than painting — it is a philosophical dialogue delivered with a smile.
