Introduction with education and work
Seo Hyein graduated from the Department of Photography at Kaywon University of Art & Design and
completed graduate studies in Photography Design at the Graduate School of Industrial Arts, Hongik
University. Based on idealistic imagination, she continues her practice while exploring the conflicts and
reflections encountered in contemporary life. Her notable works include
《Tooth Fairy》, which captures traces of belief, hope, and love revealed within an imperfect reality, and
《gather!》, a series that reflects unconscious habits and repetitive actions.
Introduction without education and work
Hyein Seo, born in Seoul, explores conceptual work through photography. Grounded in reality yet driven by
utopian imagination, her practice centers on self-portraiture to convey personal narratives and reflect on
the conflicts of identity in contemporary society. She expands private experiences into a social context,
capturing traces of belief, hope, and love within an imperfect reality.
서혜인은 계원예술대학교에서 사진예술학과를 졸업하고 홍익대학교 산업미술대학원에서 사진디자인을
수료했다. 이상적 상상을 바탕으로 작업을 이어가며, 현시대를 살아가며 마주하는 충돌과 고민을 담고 있다.
대표 작업으로는 불완전한 현실 속에서 드러나는 믿음과 소망, 사랑의 흔적을 포착한 <Tooth Fairy>와
무의식적인 습관과 반복되는 행동을 담아낸 <gather!> 등이 있다.
서혜인은 현실에서 출발한 유토피아적 상상을 바탕으로 사진 매체를 통해 개념적인 작업을 이어오고 있다.
셀프 포트레이트를 중심으로 이야기를 풀어내며, 현대 사회에서 마주하는 다양한 정체성의 충돌에 대한
